I work collaboratively with clients to promote well-being and increase independence in ways that are meaningful to them, with particular emphasis on using outdoors and the natural world as a therapeutic medium to promote positive changes, wellbeing and recovery.
I have experience of facilitating both individual and group work, including co-producing and facilitating a Living with anxiety course for a local Recovery College, and a variety of groups for inpatient settings that have including cycling and gardening amongst more traditional psycho-educational groups.
I have experience of setting up services from scratch, developing successful OT assessment pathways and teams in order to provide the best possible to service to those using the service. I have extensive experience of supervising and mentoring OTs and believe that this is essential to being an effective practitioner.
In addition to my experience in mental health, I also work as a case manager guiding the rehabilitation of clients with complex physical and mental health conditions following an accident or injury to maximise their independence and return to optimal functioning, including vocational support.
