I have worked for the NHS for 25 years alongside the private sector, with case managers. Within this time, I have developed and delivered the Long Covid Service including, managing fatigue, sleep disturbance, cognitive rehabilitation for related brain fog and vocational rehabilitation and worked towards meeting key performance indicators. I have recruited and supported staff with supervision and personal development reviews. Prior to LC I worked within Intermediate Care with neurological conditions and strokes as well as orthopaedic, mental health and lower limb amputees. I am experienced in- • gathering and use of up-to-date knowledge within interventions/assessments. • promotion of services to colleagues, GP's, Integrated Care Board, Local Government, Trust Board and individual users. • completing audits for NHS England and Trust • completing risk assessments for environments being used for group therapy sessions and home visits. • developing patient leaflets and promotional packages, ensuring correct language is used. • developing and presenting education sessions on Covid to the wider community. • updating therapy programmes for enablers/carers to follow and with individuals returning to work. • completing forms for personal independence payments. • using aspects of Dialectical behaviour therapy such as Emotion Regulation and cognitive behaviour therapy to enable engagement within ADL. • use supportive techniques such as STOP and 54321 to enable focus on the here and now. • utilising media, relaxation techniques and mindfulness therapies to enable focus away from stressors. • provision of education around impact of symptoms on the autonomic nervous system and thus on somatic symptoms.
I use a biopsychosocial and patient centred approach.
