Will Acland's profile

Will Acland I have a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapist and a BSc Applied Sciences (psychology with human biology)

Will Acland Occupational Therapist

I began my career as an Occupational Therapist in 2006. I have worked within the NHS and within the private sector. Most of my career has been spent in the specialist neurorehabilitation field. I have experience supporting clients along the rehab pathway, from the acute stage of their injury to slow-stream rehabilitation and long-term community rehabilitation. As such, I have been able to experience directly the long-term impact of brain injury on individuals and their families. I am confident working with individuals affected by traumatic and organic brain injuries, including strokes and degenerative conditions. I am experienced in assessing and treating clients and planning and recommending future therapeutic interventions and equipment needs. I have experience using standardised, functional and behavioural assessments to aid the formulation of goals around identified needs. I use a range of person-centred approaches and techniques to overcome the cognitive, physical and behavioural difficulties associated with the client’s injury. I have extensive experience in training carers, families and therapy staff on individual rehabilitation programmes and therapeutic approaches.
