I support clients diagnosed with Autism and/ or ADHD process their diagnosis and learn to adapt to challenges arising from lack of understanding and appreciation of neurodiversity in the world.
I specialise in supporting clients with coexisting complex presentations like Trauma, PTSD, OSD, Anxiety, Depression, Disordered Eating, Eating Disorder, Bipolar Disorder and Personality Disorder. I use a wide range of methods and approaches including Adapted Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Process Oriented Work, Compassion Focused Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Brainspotting.
I see clients in their own homes, online via MS Teams and Zoom, places of nature or interest, clinics and GP surgeries dotted around Kent.
The emphasis is on providing safe and non-judgemental space for clients to explore and express emotions, thoughts and feelings, identify life worth living goals and commencing work towards meeting these goals at a comfortable and manageable pace, with desired level of support.
This may mean working alongside family members, carers and other professionals, supporting planning and design of Autism and ADHD inclusive physical and social environments and spaces, advocating for rights of clients to access opportunities to engage in meaningful occupations and activities.
I often reach out to employers and government structures like Access to Work advocating for inclusion, recognition and accessibility to work, study and leisure opportunities, raising awareness and understanding of Autism, ADHD and Neurodiversity.
I also promote the use of Hospital and Communication Passports which remedy sensory and communication challenges of neurodivergent people in wide range of health care and other settings so that they receive care and services they need and deserve.
