As an occupational therapist and a mom of a child with additional needs, I am passionate about working with children and young people to achieve their full potential with occupations (activities) and maximise their independence.
I have over 20 years of experience working in the NHS and private sector with adults and children. I have worked in nurseries, schools, universities, people's homes, hospitals, rehabilitation centres and clinics. I also have medicolegal experience as an expert witness, and postgraduate training in sensory integration.
I work with children with underlying difficulties that affect their participation in activities and .support them to develop their skills. Difficulties may include sensory processing, gross motor skills, coordination, fine motor skills, posture, self-care, organising, planning, and emotional regulation,
Services provided include consultation and advice, assessment, 1:1 therapy, treatment programmes coaching, liaising with teachers, supporting parents/guardians/carers, equipment recommendations, reports and recommendations.
I see children and young people in their homes, educational settings and in the community.
