Sue Webb's profile

Sue Webb

I am an Occupational Therapist based in South Somerset and have been qualified for 24 years. My experience has been predominately in health care, working on acute medical wards and in rehabilitation units with a focus on functional and cognitive assessment and discharge planning. I have also worked in the hospital Safeguarding Team, supporting vulnerable adults, some of whom lacked the mental capacity to consent to their care and treatment. Although I continue to support the local acute Trust, over the past few years I have been focusing on community based private practice, carrying out assessments for equipment on behalf of charities and to support local authorities with minor adaptations and care reviews. I work with adults of all ages, but specialise in elderly care with a focus on home assessments, equipment provision, falls prevention, carer support, management of long term conditions, supporting hospital discharge and preventing readmission. Over the years I have worked alongside people with a range of acute illnesses and chronic conditions ensuring the client is at the heart of the process. I am passionate about supporting people to find solutions to enable them to remain as independent as possible for as long as possible in their own home with an emphasis on promoting function and safety and enhancing an individual’s quality of life.
