Stuart has been a practising occupational therapist since 2009, helping both children and adults with a broad spectrum of conditions such as neurological, neurodevelopmental, and physical disorders—including CP, MD, SMA, ASD, ADHD, brain injuries, and learning disabilities. His work involves conducting thorough functional assessments to identify needs, designing tailored interventions, and maximising clients’ independence, safety, health, and wellbeing. Stuart is passionate about supporting individuals and their families to achieve person-centred goals, finding solutions that empower people to build skills, gain independence, and live fulfilling lives by removing environmental barriers through problem-solving and personalised care. He has worked in various regions across the UK, including London, the Midlands, Yorkshire, the North West, and the North East. Stuart’s experience spans schools, hospitals, community settings, legal environments, and international assignments. He is committed to enhancing the quality of life for others, notably through his involvement with FIPFA, the world governing body for powered wheelchair football, where he promotes access to leisure activities for people with disabilities and disadvantaged groups. Additionally, Stuart serves as a trustee for one of the largest children’s charities in the region.
