I am the Director and Lead Occupational Therapist at Psychological Minds, where we specialize in providing psychological therapies and Specialist Occupational Therapy for children, young people, and families. Our services also include consultation for organizations supporting individuals affected by trauma, expert psychological opinion for family law cases, and training for professionals working with vulnerable children across the legal, health, education, social services, voluntary, and private sectors. I offer consultation and supervision for Occupational Therapists working in Child and Adolescent Mental Health.
With nearly 20 years of experience in CAMHS, I have developed a broad skill set and a deep interest in child and adolescent development, attachment, developmental trauma, foster care and adoption experiences, systemic working, mentalization, and neurodiversity. My assessments focus on understanding the specific challenges faced by each child or young person, exploring the reasons behind these difficulties, and examining how they impact daily life at home, school, and in the community. While diagnostic information is considered, my primary emphasis is on the emotional, cognitive, physical, sensory, and social needs that shape everyday functioning and how these can be met to promote mental health and well-being.
I offer tailored, family-centred, practical recommendations and therapy for children and young people, as well as parental support and guidance, advice for teaching professionals, and environmental assessments with recommendations for adaptation. My therapeutic approaches include Specialist Play-based Occupational Therapy, Mentalization-Based Treatment for Children, CBT-informed interventions, and solution-focused therapy.
We offer face to face and/or video appointments.
Postgraduate Diploma in Occupational Therapy
