Sam (Principal OT and Director of Staffordshire NOTS Ltd) has over 25 years of Occupational Therapy practice experience in both the NHS and private sector. Graduating in Occupational Therapy from Oxford Brookes University in 1996 and went on to completed her MSc in Neuromuscular Skeletal Healthcare in 2005. She was appointed to a Clinical Specialist OT post in Neurological Rehabilitation at the Haywood Hospital in North Staffordshire in 2003 providing rehabilitation and complex discharge planning of patients with a variety of neurological conditions. Clinical skills include splinting and casting for spasticity management and is fully trained in the Bobath Normal Movement approach. In recent years Sam has worked as an advanced clinical practitioner in spinal surgery completing regular neurological assessment (ASIA), working closely with the midlands spinal injuries centre in Oswestry gaining competency in spinal bowel care and teaching intermittent self catheterisation to our cord injury and cauda equina patients. Sam currently provides occupational therapy services to 3 independent specialist schools, in addition to individual client referrals. Sam is passionate about providing high quality, specialist occupational therapy assessment and goal orientated, bespoke treatment packages for adults and children following neurological illness/ injury, including brain injury, spinal cord injuries and long term neurological conditions and neurodivergent conditions. I will work along side our clients in their own homes, work place, educational or leisure facilities, as required. I am dedicated to providing creative client centred rehabilitation, meaningful to each individual, enhancing the lives of those I have the privilege to treat.
