I have worked as an independent OT since 2017 alongside working in a senior role in a NHS Neuro-psychiatry service based within the community and on a neuro- behavioural unit. Prior to this I worked within a Neurology and a Neurological Surgical ward within a Major Trauma Centre. I support clients with a wide range of physical, psychiatric, and psychological symptoms because of a neurological injury or illness. Within this role I assess, treat, and provide treatment plans to achieve safety and independence in fulfilling and meaningful activities and occupations. As an independent OT, I provide goal orientated and client focused assessments and rehabilitation programmes. I specialise in neurological rehabilitation with a special interest in neuropsychiatry. I work collaboratively with family members and carers to help increase the client's functional independence and overall quality of life. I work in all community settings from homes, schools, colleges, workplaces and social environments to ensure that my clients are achieving their maximum potential and fulfilling their roles, routines and occupations.
