As the founder of Step forward OT my core ethos embedded in my practice is to promote functional independence through bespoke and specialised treatment programmes.
As a clinician I provide holistic and client centred care, focusing on tasks of high value and importance to those I treat. I am able to provide comprehensive assessment and devise specialist treatment programmes for a variety of clients experiencing difficulty with everyday activities.
I currently work as a Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist, and manage a department of various specialist therapists working in the acute sector. Thus, gaining over 10 years working experience as part of the NHS. I have a vast range of clinical experience in the medical field which includes neurology, specialist seating, fracture management, home adaptations, physical rehabilitation, falls prevention, cognitive rehabilitation, acquired brain injury, palliative care and management of long-term health conditions. I also undertake environmental assessments and provide advice regarding equipment and home adaptations. I have knowledge and experience in additional areas such as pressure care, carers training, manual handling, ADL retraining, capacity assessments, memory problems, anxiety and depression, impaired mobility, spinal injury and other illnesses.
I have also worked as a clinical expert, therefore experienced in case management and devising complex treatment plans for clients alongside providing comprehensive documentation to case managers and solicitors.
I also offer coaching, supervision and mentoring to Occupational Therapists embarking on their career journey. I am committed to promoting stability, independence and wellbeing to all clients.
