I am a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist specialising in minor and major adaptations, housing, equipment including specialist seating, manual handling and single-handed care, functional assessments, and assessments for care needs.
I am passionate about working with adults of all ages to support them in achieving their goals and to be as independent as possible. I endeavour to provide all my clients with a holistic, well-rounded assessment and person-centred support. I also offer support and advice where needed to carers, family members, and other professionals. I am a strong advocate for my clients' needs, supporting them to access services or support where needed.
One example of the type of work I do is to support clients in achieving accessibility within the home or community, while focusing on safety and supporting daily living to maximise function and independence. For example, this may include equipment to support at home, or providing advice or specifications for adaptations to make a property more accessible.
I have worked with many client groups, most notably adults with long-term conditions and physical disabilities. I have extensive experience working with local authorities, housing associations, and adult social care; and with legislation including the Care Act, and the DFG (Disabled Facilities Grant).
I am a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapist's specialist section in Independent Practice and maintain a high level of continuing professional development.
