Throughout my NHS career, I’ve worked across diverse settings and supported individuals navigating complex health challenges and life transitions - impacting both physical and psychological health. I bring clinical depth and experience that enables a truly holistic approach to wellbeing, grounded in evidence, compassion and care.
Our bodies aren’t designed for non-stop pressure. In today’s fast-paced world, we’ve normalised overloading our days with constant demands - often ignoring our need for rest, rhythm and recovery. Over time, the cumulative impact can result in fatigue, poor sleep, brain fog, low mood, anxiety or irritability - signs of deeper physiological and emotional dysregulation.
My approach is holistic and solution-focused, aiming not just to manage symptoms, but to address the underlying drivers or root cause of imbalance. This means taking a broader, systemic view - exploring how daily routines, roles, habits, responsibilities and environments interact to shape health and wellbeing.
We often underestimate how much our everyday lifestyle impacts physical and psychological functioning. But how we sleep, eat, move, connect, manage stress and engage with our environment profoundly affects how we feel and function. I’ve integrated the six pillars of lifestyle medicine into my occupational therapy expertise - forming a unique, evidence-informed framework that supports sustainable change. My work goes beyond workplace wellbeing or vocational rehabilitation. I consider home and work life simultaneously, tailoring support around each individual’s energy, capacity and goals.
Whether someone is experiencing burnout, chronic fatigue, poor sleep or emotional overwhelm, my work supports recovery and helps restore clarity, energy, function and balance. I meet each person where they are - empowering them to reconnect with what matters and move toward a life that feels more manageable and fulfilling.
In my clinical experience, these challenges often affect women disproportionately - particularly those carrying the invisible mental load of multiple roles. This work is also deeply personal. My lived experience of burnout, alongside 25 years of clinical practice, shapes how I work - with warmth, compassion, practical insight and evidence-informed strategies tailored to real life.
I primarily work online, with face-to-face sessions available in South Yorkshire by arrangement. You can learn more on my website - including client testimonials, or find me on LinkedIn if you'd like to connect: www.linkedin.com/in/beckydean-occupationaltherapist
