I have worked as a highly specialised OT with people with neurological conditions for over 10 years in the NHS, before moving into independent practice. My areas of expertise include the assessment and rehabilitation of people with head injury, stroke, Parkinson's disease, Multiple sclerosis, and brain tumour alongside other neurological conditions. I work collaboratively with those finding everyday tasks difficult to set meaningful goals and to engage in the rehabilitation journey, with a focus on increasing independence. I am skilled in the rehabilitation of people who have lost function in their arm and hand, including those with spasticity or contracture. I am experienced in splinting (including functional splints), postural management including wheelchair assessments, fatigue/ sleep management and vocational rehabilitation. In addition to neurology I have experience in working in care of the elderly, trauma orthopaedics, general medicine and surgery I have completed the basic Bobath course.
