Penny West Independent Occupational Therapist

Penny West is a freelance occupational therapist and case manager, based in North London. She works with people to help build their resilience and enable them to achieve the occupations (activities) and life style that are important to them despite disability or illness. Penny has many years' experience as a clinician and as a manager in the health service, social services and social housing. Since 1998 she has been working independently. Her main area of work now is providing person-centred assessments, support and advice for people who have a disability or a mental health challenge. She can also give advice and information to family carers, as required. Penny writes reports for private individuals, case managers and solicitors. She has a range of experience: supporting people with dementia/memory loss; housing adaptations/disability equipment to promote independence; preparing to return to work and people with catastrophic injuries following an accident.
