I am an experienced occupational therapist registered with HCPC. I currently work in a Neurodisability Service at a paediatric hospital in London where I specialise in developmental assessments and intervention for complex children. I love my role, as I work within a very experienced multi-disciplinary team who put the child and family first. This role has really helped me develop a further understanding of Neurodisability and developmental disabilities and its impact on participating in occupations.
I have extensive experience working within the disability sector in Australia, where intervention is provided at school, home and in the community. I worked with people across the life span and working on goal areas that were very diverse, including self-care, accessing the community, mental health, sleep, feeding, behaviours, accessing school work and specialised equipment.
I have started my own independent practice and live in the Hertfordshire area, but happy to travel into London. I aim to listen to the child, young person, and family to identify goals and provide supports in your home. I believe that therapy takes place throughout the day not just in the short amount of time I spend with you. I also think therapy should be fun and the key is building a relationship first!
I believe that enabling people of all ages to engage in occupations brings about wellbeing.
I specialise in Autism, Developmental Disabilities, Play Therapy, functional assessment and intervention, functional sensory assessment and intervention, Cognitive Orientation to Occupational Performance (CO-OP trained) and SOS Feeding trained.
I look forward to hearing from you. Olivia
