I work as an independent OT with clients in their own homes, in the local community and in the work place to help them regain and maintain their maximum function in every day tasks that they have identified as a priority. This includes improving cognitive and physical function, assessing for equipment and adaptation, problem solving and thinking outside of the box. I work with adults and children with a wide range of neurological, physical and learning difficulties. I never tire of supporting someone to improve their quality of life. I qualified in 1995 and worked in London in mental health and then in patient services at King College Hospital where I specialised in acute neuro assessment and treatment. On leaving London I pursued my interest and continued developing skills in neuro and catastrophic injuries. Over the last 5 years I have worked in case management for adults and children with life changing injuries. I have many years experience working with professionals including, solicitors, financial deputies, insurers, other therapists, schools, local authorities and equipment providers. I manage care and therapy teams and support clients and their families during litigation and after settlement. I assess for and provide treatment plans, comprehensive INA reports and intervention for clients that are goal driven and person centred. I also provide disability equality training and accredited national Trusted Assessor Training level 2 and 3 to local authorities, equipment providers and charities to enable them to assess for, supply and fit simple pieces of equipment.
