My enthusiasm for occupational therapy is infectious, I am a proud advocate for my profession. I am often found explaining occupational therapy concepts to anyone who shows an interest. I am passionate about vocation as this is the foundation of my profession.
Throughout my diverse experience, I have gained both broad and specialist knowledge in many areas. I regularly self-teach and seek out training and resources to improve my clinical skills. I have developed outstanding, warm and professional communication skills with a diverse range of people in equally diverse settings.
I am a Matheson trained Functional Capacity Evaluator and undertake functional assessment to ascertain a person’s ability and capacity to undertake work and meaningful activity.
Enable Works Ltd: Self Employed Occupational Therapy Consultant. December 2016 – August 2016 and March 2017- present. I am a trained functional capacity evaluator and complete a variety of vocational rehabilitation interventions to their clients. These include work based assessments, vocational redirection, vocational case management and ergonomic assessments.
I have helped developed various specialist mental health training programs designed for managers in the workplace to effectively support those with mental health conditions. I have also been involved in promoting the company at conferences and events.
OH Assist / Optima Health: Self-Employed Associate Occupational Therapist. December 2017 – Present. · Completing ad hoc functional capacity evaluations, ergonomic assessments and specialist occupational health assessments such as Autism / ASD, mental health, cognitive, dyslexia / dyspraxia and musculoskeletal amongst others.
Posturite: Consultant July 2017 – present · Completing level three workstation and driver comfort assessments on an ad hoc basis for a wide range of employees around the south west and Wales.

August 2016 – March 2017 (permanent employee) April – Present (self-employed associate) Working as an OHA with this award-winning rehabilitation and injury management company. · Clinical lead for our biggest client (M&S) quality checking reports, handling compliments, complaints and manager call-backs. · Ability to independently deliver coaching and / or training to teams, managers and employees on a diverse range of topics. · Completing specialist assessments such as functional, physical, cognitive, bio-psycho-social, complex mental health and ergonomics / DSE. · Jointly assessing and problem-solving the ergonomics of a large distribution centre.
South Gloucestershire Talking Therapies (SGTT) previously LIFT Psychology NHS December 2014 – July 2016 SGTT is an NHS primary mental healthcare provider in which I managed the 'Employment Support' service. Our client base was a combination of job retention and supporting people to change careers or take steps towards employment. · Supporting both employer and employee, often running training sessions for companies on mental health awareness and reasonable adjustments. · Career change coaching / motivational interviewing / vocational rehabilitation.
Occupational Balance Coaching January 2014 – Present I have created a small business which is a mix between occupational therapy and life coaching. This takes the form of 1:1 face to face and telephone sessions in which I utilise my occupational therapy and life coaching training to enable a vast variety of people to achieve their life goals.
