I am a highly experienced Occupational Therapist specialising in neuro-rehabilitation. I have practiced in the field of neurology since 2003 and have further specialised in working with young people (aged 14-25) as a Transition Clinical Lead within the NHS.
My experience includes goal-oriented rehabilitation for a range of complex conditions, including Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injuries, Cerebral Palsy, Ataxia, Muscular Dystrophies, Multiple Sclerosis, Learning Disabilities and Mental Health Conditions.
I always practise with the client at the heart of their care to positively identify a client’s occupational strengths and challenges. I am experienced in engaging young people, adults, parents, families, schools and carers in understanding and supporting an individual’s needs and intervention programmes.
I have demonstrable experience working with clients who have complex cognitive, physical, environmental and ADL needs and am a proven asset to specialist teams. I am an effective communicator and have extensive working knowledge of health and social services, third sector, education and providers of vocational rehabilitation opportunities, private care providers and charitable organisations.
As an independent practitioner, I am experienced at providing a range of services from functional, cognitive or postural assessments to SMART based goal-oriented intervention programmes, fatigue management, advice on equipment and vocational rehab, all aimed at maximising a client’s potential. I grasp every opportunity to facilitate and maximise potential for clients to re-learn and recover.
