I can complete OT and moving handling assessments for people, providing recommendations and advice for manual handling, specialist and adaptive equipment provision, specifications of work for major and minor adaptations of the home and liaise with reputable companies to deliver our vision. I can offer support to both the client and carers, formal and informal, and I have a special interest in providing safe client handling and meaningful activities for those living with dementia. With a background in reablement services I can support you to get back to your normal level of independence following injury or ill health. As a moving and handling trainer I have delivered training for care teams in client’s homes, schools, colleges and residential care settings, for people with complex physical and learning disabilities and older people. I also regularly facilitate moving and handling training for clinicians in health and social care. I have experience of working with Local Authorities and Care Homes to ensure the appropriate care support is being provided and that the appropriate risk assessments and handling plans are in place.
