Graduating in 2011 and working across the NHS and the private sector, Miriam is a highly skilled Occupational Therapist. She is experienced supporting adults with a wide range of conditions and injuries including elderly care and frailty, dementia, cardio-respiratory conditions, orthopaedics and trauma, progressive neurological conditions, stroke, brain injury, learning difficulties, cancer, palliative and end of life care.
Miriam is passionate about reducing risks, maximising independence and improving quality of life and wellbeing. She works closely with clients and their families and carers, to ensure their wishes and goals are at the centre of treatment.
Miriam has expert knowledge in home environment assessments, recommending equipment and adaptations to promote safety and independence. She is skilled in falls prevention, functional rehabilitation, advising on complex moving and handling, fatigue and pain management, behaviour management, rehabilitation following hospital discharge or injury, and management of long term conditions. She has worked on behalf of Local Authorities and CCG’s, completing assessments and recommending care plans, and has worked with care homes, advising on moving and handling, specialist seating and developing meaningful activities.
