Matt Homewood's profile

Matt Homewood BSc. Occupational Therapy: University of Cumbria

The Barefoot OT

As a highly motivated HCPC Registered Mental Health Occupational Therapist, I have a proven track record of making a significant difference in the lives of individuals suffering from learning difficulties, personality disorders, and other mental health diagnoses. My primary focus is on empowering these individuals to acquire the necessary skill set to integrate more independently into their environment. I have previously worked in low-security forensic and rehabilitation hospital wards and with patients in specialist wards for older clients. I have also experience in providing clinical supervision for occupational therapy assistants within the Occupational Therapy Team.

I have acquired extensive knowledge in relational security, risk assessment for various activities and venues, and restricted individual functionality. I continually strive to integrate the principles of ecotherapy and holistic treatments into our daily engagements.

Furthermore, I have accrued over a decade of experience in care work, catering to the needs of vulnerable adults. I aim to leverage my diverse background in customer service, team leadership, and alternative therapies to enrich my service offerings. My passion for travel has allowed me to cultivate cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity for working with diverse client groups, further enhancing my adaptability and versatility in the mental health field.

Professional memberships: Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT), Professional Member (BT0813558) Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC), O.T. Full member (OT75569) RCOTSS-IP Membership No: 9673

I hold an enhanced DBS certificate (annual update online services), and ICO Data Protection registered.
