I specialise in housing adaptations and moving and handling. I have managed teams in both area's. I regularly work with patients with multiple conditions, both adult and paediatric, dealing with complex family and social histories. I have lots of experience of working with multiple agencies including, rehabilitation teams, social services, housing associations, Housing departments, wheelchair services, reablement teams, care management, sensory impairment teams, solicitors, Commissioning Groups and private builders/surveyors/architects. I have also attended courses around access design enhancing my work experience. I have helped plan new build properties and designed refurbishments of sheltered and similar accommodations. I have acted as a housing/disability advisor to local authorities in regard to refurbishing sheltered accommodation and advised their access officer on numerous new build schemes. I have assessed and designed for hundreds of adaptations covering every conceivable design and type of disability. I am able to think outside the box and design an adaptation to suit the unique needs of an individual. I act as a consultant to another company offering management of the entire DFG process on behalf of a local authority. More recently I have worked with Clinical Commissioning Groups to manage reviews of services, help redesign services and procure new services. My diverse experience enables me to delve into a huge bank of knowledge. I am therefore able to deal with complex and challenging scenario's always finding a satisfactory solution.
