I have over 15 years experience of working within NHS adult services across acute, community, group treatment programmes and primary mental health in both senior OT roles and specialist mental health practitioner roles before moving into private practice in recent years. I am also an accredited Psychological therapist which means I am trained in a wide range of evidence based tools and treatment options to support you in your journey to recovery whilst making any adaptations you may need so you can get the best out of treatment. From my experience working as an OT, I have a good understanding of the interplay between mental and physical wellbeing I am passionate about working collaboratively with clients to help support their recovery following illness, in re-engagement in meaningful activities, routines, goals, and in rediscovering a life that is once again fulfilling. I also have a special interest in sensory processing and I'm aware that many adults who are neurodiverse and receive diagnoses in adulthood often miss out on the opportunities and support to fully explore and understand their environment through their own unique sensory lens. Sensory processing can help inform us of what we need in the moment to calm us, energise us, and ultimately regulate us. Having a good grounding in this area can provide a great foundation for psychological therapy. I prioritise helping you work out a clear plan of what you wish to achieve in therapy and which approach would suit you best to help you achieve your meaningful goals. You are very welcome to email me via [email protected] if you have any questions regarding what treatment may entail, availability, etc.
