I am sensory integration trained, and this way of working underpins most of my treatments. Following an initial assessment and a follow-up consultation to discuss the report, individual therapy sessions are offered either in your home or school. Direct sessions can be supported by home programmes, and with liaison into school to encourage transference into the classroom setting.
I love working with the early years and equally enjoy the partnership that comes when a child is slightly older. Children achieve their best when they experience success no matter how small, and when the therapy engages them at their level. I aim to make my sessions fun and engaging, allowing the child to be in the best possible space to learn.
Early intervention is a gift that helps a child to build a solid foundation for future development. The family unit plays a vital role in the effectiveness of intervention, and I believe strongly in the benefit of equipping parents with the knowledge and tools to help their child.
I have worked as part of the school team, seeing children in this setting and provided training to staff of both mainstream and independent schools. I successfully ran workshops and sessions for inset days.
