With over 20 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist, I specialise in housing adaptations that enable individuals to live safely, independently, and with dignity in their own homes. With a vast experience of creating housing solutions that improve lives and enables people to thrive in their home and environment, I fully appreciate and understand the importance of the built environment and how it impacts on wellbeing. I have extensive working knowledge of the Disabled Facilities Grants process, and its application. I have gained significant clinical and management experience in Social Care and the private sector, and have an excellent professional reputation within this field, and have been a key part of the development of individuals and services, using my knowledge and experience. The combination of these roles has equipped me to work in clinical, managerial and governance roles. I have gained recognition for the high standard of work that I deliver and I am confident to work with a variety of people, including internal and external stakeholders, government departments and disability specific representative groups. I have a robust understanding of a vast range of health conditions and the impact of disability on an individual. My goal is to ensure that I support clients and advocate for them and ensure a positive outcome. I work closely with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure every voice is heard. My supportive and empathetic style fosters trust and collaboration, allowing for holistic, person-centred care that respects each individual’s goals and lifestyle.
