I work with individuals with stroke, neurological conditions and long term health conditions to support identifying and achieving their goals, increasing their engagement in meaningful occupations and activities, and coaching individuals to meet their potential and to live as independently as possible.
I use activity analysis to understand the abilities and challenges individuals have in their daily activities and develop rehabilitation programmes, explore activity or environmental adaptations and discuss equipment that may be beneficial.
I have a specialist skills in cognitive assessment, looking at an individual’s strengths and challenges within their thinking and how this can impact daily home, community, work and leisure activities. I work with individuals with a range of rehabilitation strategies to enhance and or support their thinking abilities, confidence and independence in daily activities.
I have a lot of experience in assessing and supporting individuals to return to work and lead the Southwest Vocational (work) Community of Practice. I have specialist knowledge of managing fatigue, assess and advice on posture, positioning, moving and handling, specialist seating, lifestyle management, and splinting.
I work closely with family members, carers and other services and professionals to support a comprehensive and holistic approach to rehabilitation and care.
