I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2009 and have experience of working in acute hospitals in surgical & orthopaedics and acute stroke. I then specialised in NHS wheelchair services where I gained extensive experience of postural assessment, measuring and prescribing wheelchairs and specialist seating. I have worked with people at all levels of mobility and am comfortable assessing for and prescribing all kinds of wheelchairs from the basic standard wheelchairs, to adding specialist postural accessories, third party backrests, the full range of pressure relief cushions as well as custom moulded seating, complex modular seating, manual and powered, alternative controls etc.
I also have a keen interest in 24 hour posture management and have some experience of specialist armchairs and lying supports.
