Lauren is an experienced community Occupational Therapist specialising in a wide variety of mental and physical health conditions including: Dementia, Parkinson's, Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, depression, anxiety, psychosis, stroke, hoarding, bereavement, trauma, ageing, falls, amputee and suicidal ideation.
Past experiences include four years at one the largest health and social care charities within London and South-East England, whereby Lauren's main responsibility was to create and run a specialist OT service for Holocaust and Bosnian Genocide Survivors and Refugees. Lauren has also worked with young adults who have moderate learning and physical disabilities. This work has included creating bespoke weekly programmes to facilitate these individuals in achieving their goals, and supporting a group of 12 young adults during a 2-week international trip. Finally, Lauren works collaboratively with multiple Local Authorities, providing home assessments, advising on equipment provision, and advocating for clients to ensure they feel safe, listened to and socially engaged.
Lauren prides herself on establishing excellent professional relationships with clients to ensure that all intervention is client centered and strives to enable as much independence as possible. Providing clients and families with the needed support, comfort and expertise on how to keep their loved ones at home and safe is at the heart of her practice.
