Kerry Delaney's profile

Kerry Delaney Sensory Integration Specialist Dyspraxia assessor

FreshStart Kids Therapy

I am a friendly and dedicated occupational therapist and sensory integration practitioner.

I have worked mostly within the NHS in autism and learning disability services, along with paediatrics and neurology. I have specialised in working with children and young people with neurodevelopmental conditions, such as sensory processing difficulties, autism, ADHD, dyspraxia (developmental coordination disorder). I also work with children who have difficulties with handwriting.

I am duel trained with both Sensory Integration Education and also gained international certification in Sensory Integration with CLASI. This means I am able to use the new EASI assessment for sensory integration difficulties.

I work closely with children/young people and their parents/carers and schools to enable them to achieve their potential and overcome barriers they face. My aim is to build a trusting relationship with the child and for them to experience my assessments and therapy as fun!

My reports have contributed to children gaining an EHCP and adjustments required within the school setting, along with a greater understanding of their difficulties for all of those involved.

I also assess adults and children for Dyspraxia.

I am registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC), the Royal College of Occupational Therapy and Sensory Integration Network. I have an Enhanced DBS certificate.

I work across Yorkshire.
