Kate Knox - The Alternative OT

I am an experienced and confident therapist with a personable approach which enables me to engage easily with patients and their families. I am able to establish meaningful, realistic and truly client-centered therapy goals. I am an experienced advocate and aim to support clients who have faced significant changes in their life to identify what is important to them, what gives their life purpose and what they feel passionate about.

The importance of multidisciplinary working underpins my practice and I have a passion for ensuring my patients have a voice. I am skilled in facilitating patients to be able to achieve their optimum rehabilitation potential.

Another pillar of my practice is to support clients to understand their occupational nature, by supporting them to understand the importance of and accessing activities that are aligned and meaningful to them.

I am passionate about how occupational therapy can help empower clients to achieve overall wellbeing. This includes increasing participation and independence, whilst building self confidence and resilience by bringing awareness to their inner resource and strength. It is important that all individuals have the opportunity to access an occupational therapy service that is committed to exploring and supporting clients as the multi-dimensional humans, that they are. As a result I ensure therapy and intervention focuses on the physical, emotional, cognitive and spiritual needs of my clients.
