Kate is a highly experienced State Registered Occupational Therapist with almost two decades of clinical experience across health and social care and the NHS. She qualified in 2007 with an MSc in Health Through Occupation from the University of Brighton and has since developed a broad and specialist skillset supporting both working-age adults and older people. Kate specialises in rehabilitation and reablement, with a strong focus on enabling independence and supporting individuals to live the lifestyle they choose. She has extensive experience assessing clients within their home environments, providing expert advice on adaptations, and recommending equipment tailored to meet individual and family needs. Her clinical expertise includes equipment provision, wheelchair assessment, and seating, working as part of multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe and effective moving and handling solutions. She has significant experience in discharge planning, leading family meetings alongside medical teams and offering clear, compassionate guidance to clients and their carers. Alongside her clinical work, Kate is passionate about developing the profession. She has contributed as a clinical lecturer at the University of Brighton, supporting the learning and development of future Occupational Therapists. She remains committed to professional excellence through ongoing supervision, peer support networks, and regular attendance at conferences and seminars. Kate is dedicated to delivering high-quality, person-centred care and believes that rehabilitation should always be guided by the individual’s goals, values, and desired way of life.
