FLOW Occupational Therapy

I'm Joanne Bright and I bring over 30 years of healthcare experience, with a focus on mental health for the past 24 years. At FLOW Occupational Therapy, I specialise in prevention of and treatment of burnout. Together we can identify what has led to burnout and develop a personalised recovery plan tailored to your unique occupations, values, strengths and interests. Prevention of burnout requires self awareness, intention and commitment to change. Managing burnout takes time and requires a change in habits, priorities and routines. Occupational Therapy will enable and empower you to develop your own graded recovery plan and support you on your road to recovery. I believe in harnessing the transformative power of nature to enhance your well-being and unlock your full potential. Through nature-based activities in serene surroundings, I aim to rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit. Drawing upon my expertise, I understand the profound impact that feeling overwhelmed can have on our lives. Using a client centred approach, I genuinely listen to your interests, experiences and values, ensuring a therapeutic alignment that is unique to Occupational Therapy. I recognize the effects of illness, exhaustion and an overly demanding lifestyle, which can result in feelings of being stuck and dissatisfied. Here is the exciting part: I firmly believe that within you lies all the knowledge, skills and resources necessary for recovery and leading a more meaningful life. By adopting a strengths-based approach, we will work collaboratively to identify and overcome barriers hindering your progress. Through personalized and graded goals, we will develop a personal plan to navigate these challenges, taking one step at a time. Throughout your recovery journey, I'll provide unwavering support and encouragement, particularly times when your confidence, self-esteem and self- identity may be low. With many years of experience, I have helped many individuals regain their sense of purpose and lead more meaningful lives. At FLOW Occupational Therapy, I offer a diverse range of techniques and skills to enhance your self- awareness. These include mindfulness, self- regulation, and deep relaxation. Together we will explore effective emotional regulation techniques, Strategies for managing mood and approaches to anxiety reduction. I will guide you towards adopting a healthier lifestyle, fostering overall well-being, reducing stress and boosting mood. My commitment extends beyond individual services. I am deeply passionate about creating supportive and safe work environments. To this end, I conduct mental health training workshops and groups for small businesses, encouraging open and transparent conversations surrounding mental health. By fostering understanding and reducing stigma, we can cultivate workplaces that are truly supportive and compassionate. In addition to individual services, I provide comprehensive training for care workers, focusing on client centred care, the value of activity and effective care planning. I also offer psychoeducational sessions on understanding a variety of mental health conditions, equipping care givers with valuable knowledge to make positive impact in their roles. As a certified Personal performance life coach, I offer a unique perspective to my practice. Alongside Occupational Therapy I provide coaching, mentoring and professional supervision to support your personal and professional development.
