I am a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist providing therapy to support mental wellbeing. I work with people experiencing stress, anxiety and low mood and who respond to a negative inner critic by creating repeated unwanted negative patterns of behaviour which are unhelpful in their lives. I use evidence-based therapeutic interventions and work collaboratively to enable individuals to acknowledge their issues, understand what might be happening to cause and perpetuate the issues, and then help people to reframe to positive, functional thoughts and patterns of behaviour using meaningful strategies and techniques to promote mental wellbeing, confidence and ongoing resilience.
I have a wealth of knowledge and over 20 years experience with a broad range of client groups, including adults, young people, children and families. I have a relaxed and skilled rapport enabling people to feel at ease to share and explore issues in order to initiate positive change.
Testimonial from University Student: “These sessions were incredibly empowering and helped me learn techniques and skills to handle my stress and anxiety. The sessions were a mixture of more practical sessions working on understanding the science behind my feelings and coming up with coping techniques. The other sessions were in a more talking therapy style where I was able to talk over the problems and anxieties I was facing. Both I found very useful in different ways”
