I am a HCPC and RCOT registered Occupational Therapist, with 15 years of experience across the health and social care sector. I support adults with complex physical health, neurological, and mental health needs, delivering person-centred, practical, and evidence-based interventions that promote independence, safety, and meaningful occupation.
I have worked within local authorities and the NHS. I have experience in completing Care Act assessments to identify eligible needs relating to housing, moving and handling, equipment provision, and minor and major adaptations. I have experience completing Disabled Facilities Grant referrals, recommending specialist and bespoke equipment, and working collaboratively with contractors and organisations to meet complex physical needs, including neurological and spinal cord conditions.
I provide rehabilitation-focused interventions to maximise independence and safety within individuals’ home environments and within the community. My work includes supporting people to develop or regain life skills such as self-care, domestic tasks, cooking, budgeting, community access, and engagement in meaningful occupations. I regularly use behavioural activation, routine scheduling, fatigue management strategies, and assistive technology to support motivation and independence.
I have experience completing mental capacity assessments, best interest decisions, and contributing to complex Court of Protection cases. I also developed an assistive technology training pathway to promote least restrictive practice and have contributed to research and resource development alongside Oxford University and complex needs services
