- I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1988 and have over 26 years of NHS experience
- I have specialised in working with people who have a cognitive impairment; people who have a learning disability eg. Down's syndrome or autism and people who have dementia
€¢ I have worked extensively in multi agency community teams as well as within a locked assessment and treatment unit and day services
€¢ Managerial responsibilities have included the setting up and developing of services, supervising staff and managing change within the working environment
€¢ Additional post-graduate study led to the successful completion of an MSc in Occupational Therapy in 2012 allowing me to keep knowledge and skills in Occupational Therapy up to date
€¢ Research for my degree explored the role of the Occupational Therapist when working with people who have a learning disability and dementia. I have presented the findings of this research at a number of national and international conferences
