I have 25+ years of experience working with children and young people. Since graduating from University of Brighton with BSc. (Hons) degree in Occupational Therapy in 2016, I have worked in educational establishments and private practice before opening SwingFun Occupational Therapy in Lewes, East Sussex.
SwingFun Occupational Therapy has a designated clinic with suspended equipment that supports the development of sensory integration for children (2-18yrs) using the Ayres Sensory Integration® approach. I have studied the Ayres Sensory Integration® approach at post grad level with Ulster University (SI level 1 & 2) & Sheffield Hallam University (SI level 3 & 4).
I also coordinate the Sensory Integration Network Regional group for Sussex for professionals using sensory integration. I have a special interest in DLD (Developmental Language Disorder).
I believe children and young people are best supported when they are motivated. Through building a therapeutic relationship with clients and their families, I support children and young people to achieve their goals, whilst developing skills for everyday living and learning.
Testimonial: Jenny has worked with both my children over the last year on co-ordination, sensory processing, organisational and handwriting skills. She is a great listener (to children and parents) and is sensitive to the individual needs of each child, planning clear and relevant therapy goals for each child’s needs. She quickly established a rapport with my kids and is encouraging and engaging, helping them to develop confidence and independence. She is very thorough in her assessment and sets achievable and fun home practice activities. (Parent)
