I am a highly conscientious and dependable Occupational Therapist with 30 years of experience working in both the NHS and in the private sector. I have worked in a variety of settings including hospital, community and clinic settings. For the last 20 years I have specialised in hand therapy, treating adults and children with hand, wrist and upper limb conditions. I am committed to providing effective, evidence-based and client-focused treatment and advice for all clients, carers and fellow colleagues. My main goal is to make a significant and positive impact on people’s lives. Over the last 11 years, I have developed my career further and now work purely in the private sector. I am enjoying working with people with a wide range of conditions and using all of my experience to help them achieve their goals. Hand therapy is my passion, but in the last few years, I have broadened my skills and undertaken workplace assessments, offering solutions to employers and employees. I have also undertaken screening assessments for people with suspected dyslexia, autism and ADHD offering advice in the workplace where able and signposting where indicated. Supporting people to return to work after trauma, illness or bereavement has proven a very satisfying aspect to my skill set. My confidence, skills and knowledge are at a level I feel ensure that I can provide dedicated and excellent care with a high level of expertise and experience. I am always committed to further developing as an OT and Hand Therapist and greatly value all the opportunities to expand my experience in the private sector. I am very proud to have received the 2024 Clinical Impact Award from The OT Practice which was a career highlight and a lovely surprise. I have also had an article on the Role of the OT in Hand Trauma published in the December 2024 OT Practice newsletter that is distributed to case management companies nationwide.
