Gillian is a HCPC registered Occupational Therapist and the Founder of The Fatigue Service. She specialises in supporting adults experiencing persistent fatigue. This may be as a symptom of a health condition such as an acquired brain injury (ABI), fibromyalgia, cancer, multiple sclerosis (MS), ME/CFS, Parkinson’s disease, rheumatoid arthritis, Long Covid or HIV.
Living with chronic fatigue herself, she has a good understanding of the physical, emotional and practical challenges fatigue can bring to everyday life. She also knows that with the right support and strategies, it is possible to regain a sense of control, balance and fulfilment.
Through The Fatigue Service, Gillian offers personalised one-to-one online support. Her approach is holistic and evidence-based. It begins with a comprehensive assessment of a person’s individual circumstances and the effects of fatigue on their daily activities, roles and routines. Support is then tailored to the individual and may include sessions on energy management techniques, pacing, activity and environment modification, improving sleep and the importance of rest, relapse prevention, managing work, and talking to family and friends about fatigue.
Drawing on her additional training as a registered yoga teacher, Gillian can also incorporate relaxation techniques, mindfulness and gentle movement practices to support wellbeing.
Her online service allows clients across the UK to access specialist, non-judgemental support from the comfort of their own home.
