I am a highly experienced and compassionate Occupational Therapist, specialising in frailty, rehabilitation, and reablement. Since qualifying in 2006, I have worked with adults with complex conditions, including stroke, neurology, spinal injuries, and dementia.
My career began in community OT, supporting adults with long-term disabilities by prescribing equipment, designing housing adaptations, and training care staff in safe moving and handling techniques. I then moved into acute hospital care, providing rehabilitation for patients recovering from trauma or managing long-term conditions. During this time, I specialized in frailty and dementia care, contributing to the development of an award-winning dementia unit.
In 2020, I returned to community care as the lead therapist for a specialist functional rehabilitation team. I designed tailored rehab and reablement programs to help adults regain independence in daily life. I also developed a reablement training course for care staff and led my team to achieve an ‘Outstanding’ rating in its first CQC inspection.
Beyond clinical work, I have expertise in report writing, policy documentation, financial reporting, and expert witness material. I have published articles in OT News, presented research at conferences, and completed a Master’s module in Advanced Clinical Practice.
I am passionate about empowering individuals to live as independently as possible and providing high-quality, person-centered therapy.
