I am a qualified OT and have completed my Postgraduate Diploma in Sensory Integration. I have also completed courses in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, (DBT) Cognitive Behaviour therapy (CBT), Trauma Informed Care, and have a post graduate certificate in education, and an art degree. I am offering children and family sensory integration and occupational therapy on Fridays.
I have worked for the NHS, social care and education over the last 20 years and am now stepping into independent practice, working with adults and children with sensory and occupational (self-care, leisure and work/school) needs. I have worked with all age groups in forensic mental health, schools, acute hospitals, supported accommodation, residential homes, community settings and in the home with school-based anxiety.
As an advanced sensory integration practitioner I can complete sensory assessments and give recommendations for interventions or can write reports for EHCPs or appeals. I have won national awards advocating for better understanding of sensory difficulties in schools and social care and its impact on health and wellbeing.
I am also experienced in using art, drama and cooking processes and materials to support tactile and movement sensory difficulties. I also offer school staff sensory awareness inset training. Please contact me for more information.
