I have worked in neurological settings for 23 years, this has been in hospitals, community and remotely. I particularly focus on fatigue management, vocational rehabilitation, cognitive rehabilitation and supporting all these areas I use psychological modalities to help you achieve your goals. We are rarely just affected by one thing. For example, you might be struggling with fatigue partly because of your condition but you might also be anxious about the future and that is impacting your sleep. I would look at strategies to help both the anxiety and the fatigue. Vocational rehabilitation is about supporting you either back into a job role that you previously held, into a new job or into a voluntary role if paid employment is not appropriate for you. It might be that your mood is low due to concerns of how you will cope going back to work so I would look at both the practical side of that but also how to help you have strategies to improve your mood. Cognitive rehabilitation is finding out how you are struggling with your memory, concentration or planning and creating a personalised approach for you to improve and manage this better. I have completed postgraduate training in counselling and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and am currently completing further training in trauma focused CBT in order to better help my clients navigate their recovery journey. If any of these areas resonate with you then please do get in touch, I’d love to help you achieve your goals.
