Ellie Turner's profile

Ellie Turner

I am a qualified Occupational Therapist, registered with The Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) and The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), who has been working with children and young people for over 15 years. More specifically I have worked with individuals who have a range of mental health and neurodevelopmental conditions as well as those who have experienced significant trauma or adverse childhood experiences (ACE’s).

I have a passion for building therapeutic connections and building an understanding of the ‘whole child’. I believe that having a true understanding of how a child is experiencing the world, I can support positive changes to enhance their ability to engage with meaningful occupations, increasing self esteem and wellbeing for the whole family.

I have worked in a variety of school settings and value a supportive approach to enhancing a young persons engagement in all aspects of life. I strive to advocate for the young person and family throughout the occupational therapy process, whilst giving practical and achievable recommendations to the adults around the child.

I have additional, postgraduate training in The FloortimeTM Approach, Sensory Integration and Processing, The Interoception Curriculum, Trauma Informed Occupational Therapy and Animal Assisted Interventions.
