I have over 25 years experience in the field of learning disabilities working in adult learning disabilities team, CAMHS learning disabilities and forensic pathways, integrated NHS occupational therapist in a National Autistic Society residential service and school. I am experienced in using the Model of Human Occupation model of practice assessment tools, particularly the MOHO ExpLOR, I have obtained my Talking Mats Foundation Training and I have used the MOHO OSA and Interest Checklist in the Talking Mats. I have specialised in sensory integration approaches with people with learning disabilities and complex needs/behaviours since 2006 I obtained my PgDip in sensory integration in 2019 and more recently, have obtained post graduate certification in Ayres Sensory Integration from CLASI/ASI WISE. I am currently working towards my MSc in Advancing Practice with Sensory Integration via Ulster University. I am experienced in working with multi disciplinary teams and contributing to Positive Behaviour Support plans. I provide assessment, interventions including Sensory Ladders and activity planning, training and consultancy. I lecture and deliver training to a range of professionals from health, education, social care and third sector organisations.
