I have over 30 years’ experience in both the NHS and private sectors. I have worked in hospitals and rehabilitation units, hand therapy clinics and in clients' own homes and workplaces. This has given me a broad range of knowledge and experience to draw on for each individual and family I work with.
Our ‘occupations’ are all the things we do in our lives: the basics of looking after ourselves, our work, hobbies, family life, social and leisure pursuits. These can become disrupted by illness, accident or simply the effects of growing older. My aim is to find ways for each client to manage the things that are important to them and enhance well-being.
Some of the things I can help with include: - Assessment for equipment or minor adaptations. - Rehabilitation programmes to help regain or improve independence and confidence. - ‘Future proofing’ your home to make things more manageable in later years. - Finding ways to keep doing the things you value in your daily life, from basic tasks like getting dressed to things you enjoy such as hobbies and community activities. - Learning to live well with a long-term condition - Hand therapy programmes.
I am based in South West Scotland, but can travel by arrangement. I am also able to carry out remote assessments if this works for your situation.
I am happy to discuss your needs over the phone in a free informal consultation.
