I am an HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist, with nineteen years post-graduate experience in community rehabilitation and NHS settings and four years’ experience in private case management and independent OT practice. I have specialist training in assessing the impact of disability on an individual's function in activities of daily living and in providing services designed to meet their rehabilitation goals and in identifying care needs and sourcing appropriate services and specialist equipment I have both an objective and a subjective approach to assessment and have upskilled motivational interviewing techniques Solution focused practice methods help me to empower my clients to recognise their skills and make independent progress in rehabilitation I have a keen interest in vocational rehabilitation I have excellent communication skills and proven extensive experience in home visiting and carrying out face to face consultations with clients Specialising in rehabilitation I have many years' experience of working with clients that have experienced lifelong, life limiting and life changing disabilities As a private occupational therapist and case manager I have expertise in assessing, treating and managing clients with traumatic brain injuries, spinal injury, functional and cognitive disabilities, neurological conditions, paralysis and amputees and major home adaptations I have worked extensively with families and have experience managing the needs of disabled children I am trained in ADOS-2 and ADI-R assessments for diagnosing Autism and in assessing and treating the eight senses including interoception, proprioception and vestibular Expert Work I have undertaken the Bond Solon Expert Witness training accreditated by Cardiff University.
