I have over 30 years� experience working in neurorehabilitation, particularly in acquired brain injury (ABI) (traumatic brain injury and stroke). A brain injury is a catastrophic event that has a wide reaching impact. It not only affects the person with the brain injury, but also their family, partner and or children. This is due to the combination of physical, cognitive and emotional changes.
My aim is to find ways for people with the ABI as well as their family members to adjust to the changes and to find ways of engaging in the activities that are important to them and to enhance their physical and psychological well-being.
I am very experienced in undertaking functional assessments and long-term care assessments as well as job/role analysis. Following these assessments, individual treatment programmes are devised based on the client�s specific occupational needs and strengths with the aim of enabling individuals to achieve their full potential.
I am based in the Cumbria but can travel to Scotland or Lancashire.
