Birgit Richardson-Rathje founded Independent Rehabilitation Services (IRS) in 2007. IRS is team of OTs ( adult and children) as well as a psychologist and OTIs working together to provide high quality specialist neurological rehabilitation in the West and East Midlands, North London, East Anglia and South East.

We treat clients with the following conditions:

• Neurological Conditions (TBI and ABI)
• Spinal Injuries
• Amputees
• Physical Disabilities
• Cognitive Difficulties
• Mental Health Problems
• Complex needs

Our experience also includes service development, training and case management.

IRS core aim is to maximise our client`s independence and functional ability in all aspects of their life, thereby facilitating quality of life. As Occupational Therapists our interventions are based on the biopsychosocial model. IRS offers professional client centered Occupational Therapy for individuals, families, carers, solicitors, insurers, case managers, charities, employers, housing associations and care services in the appropriate environment, e.g. home, workplace and/or the community. AMPS assessment. Birgit is also a qualified inclusive dance instructor.
