Having qualified from St Loyes, Exeter University in 2004 I initially worked in the NHS as a rotational occupational therapist. Since 2005, I have primarily worked in adult social care specialising in complex disabilities, neurological conditions, palliative care, setting up and monitoring packages of care for complex cases. I also gained expertise in equipment, home adaptations, and moving and handling. I also have experience in mental health, learning disabilities and transitions services. I complete assessments with adults and young people with physical and learning disabilities, providing holistic, client-centred assessments, recommending equipment, home adaptations and grant funding. I am experienced at identifying, justifying and recommending care and support provision for an individuals clinical needs and functional abilities. As an Independent Occupational Therapist I offer assessment, advice and interventions to individuals in their own homes, care providers and charities. I have experience of training carers and providing risk assessments.
