Having qualified as an Occupational Therapist from St Loyes, Exeter University in 2004, Bianca worked as a rotational Occupational Therapist, completing rotations in a Community Hospital, Community Rehabilitation, Acute Medicine and Surgery, and Trauma and Orthopaedics.
This allowed Bianca to establish that long term, she wanted to work in a community setting. Bianca worked in Adult Social Care for 12 years, before moving into independent practice and Case Management in 2017.
Bianca works with individuals who have complex disabilities and neurological conditions. She brings specialist skills in providing assessment and goal focussed rehabilitation for clients with acquired brain injury and other neurological impairment. Bianca is also a moving and handling trainer and specialises in reduced carer handling. She uses effective communication skills to build a positive rapport with clients, families and support workers. Bianca is proficient in completing assessments with adults and young people, providing holistic, client centred assessments.
Bianca has developed specialisms in equipment selection and provision, home adaptations, the moving and handling of people, positive risk assessment, care planning, mental capacity assessments and best interest decision making. Expertise has been gained from clinical experience and post graduate learning.
Bianca has provided leadership in a team of Social Care Professionals. Developing local practice though supervision, practice observations and facilitating CPD. Bianca provided line management for the Occupational Therapy Team, supporting clinical decision making, developing a positive approach to risk assessments, leading Mental Capacity Assessment and Best Interest Decision Making.
Bianca is an experinced Independent Occupational Therapist and Case Manager across the South West of England.
Bianca delivers comprehensive assessments and identifies options which maximises independence. Bianca offer’s holistic solutions that achieve positive outcomes for the individuals she works with.
